Abstract

Measuring coal volume is essential to assess the capacity of Stockroom 4 at PT Jambi Prima Coal. This can be done using two methods: the photogrammetry method and the terrestrial survey method. The photogrammetry method involves mapping through aerial photography, where the photographs serve as the primary data. In contrast, the terrestrial survey method involves direct measurements conducted on the earth's surface. The purpose of this study was to compare the volume of coal in stockroom 4 using the terrestrial survey method and photogrammetry. The use of the photogrammetry method is expected to simplify coal volume measurements in stockrooms with irregular surfaces or in situations where field access for operators is not feasible. This study was conducted at stockroom 4 PT Jambi Prima Coal which has an area of 0.84 Ha with a height of 10.27 meters. Data processing for each method was carried out using the Minescape 5.7 and Agisoft Metashape applications. The results showed a coal volume of 43,697.8 m³ for the terrestrial survey method and 45,365.6 m³ for the photogrammetry method. The photogrammetry method produced a volume that is 3.67% higher than the terrestrial survey method. The comparison of volumes between the two methods is 0.9:1.
